Press Release For Immediate Publication September 13, 1999  Waitsfield Telecom and Champlain Valley Telecom Put GIS on the Road Waitsfield, VT - Waitsfield Telecom has implemented MetaMAP's MetaVUE software in their service vehicles, cars, remote offices, and facility sites with notebook computers. Each computer is loaded with complete company-wide mapping and the associated facility database from their MetaMAP geospatial data management system. The data is accessed with MetaVUE software with a simplified custom user interface. Because of the ease of use, very little training is needed. The data are updated periodically by network connection or compact disc. This implementation will put valuable Geographic Information System (GIS) data, previously available only to their engineering section, in the hands of virtually anyone else in the company.
